Port of Barcelona sees a 17% increase in freight traffic in 2021

- Port of Barcelona’s freight traffic grew by 17% within January and August 2021 compared to the same period of 2020, surpassing 44.4 million tonnes.
- Container traffic grew 31.1% from pre-pandemic levels to 2.4 million TEUs, and container rail traffic grew by 46% to 161,735 TEUs in the first half of 2021.
