Egypt to inspect imported timber shipments to reduce tax avoidance

- Customs authorities in Egypt declared that all Engineers must examine imported timber shipments in which at least 70% of the imported shipment should be discharged.
- Engineers should separate items and brands on the floor, and in case of non-separation, the entire shipment will be treated as per the result of the examination.
- The decision of the inspection committee is final and aimed to match the actual cargo with the invoice to reduce tax avoidance.
