Canada's population hits 40 million driven by immigration boost

Canada reached a significant milestone, hitting 40 million in population for the first time, attributed to welcoming a record number of immigrants.

In Q3 2023, Canada experienced an unparalleled population increase of 430,000, marking the fastest quarterly growth since data collection began in 1957.

The current population of Canada stands at 40.5 million, surpassing the growth rates observed in any previous full year.

Concerns emerge as 75% of respondents agree that the rise in immigrants is straining both the housing market and the healthcare system, according to survey findings.
