Europe’s inflation generously fell by 6.1% but prices are still growing slowly and are restricting consumers from food and other essentials.

Before the war in Ukraine, St Wilhelm Roman Catholic Church in Berlin served 100 to 120 households; now it serves 200 households.

In May, food prices in the eurozone grew by 12.5% from 2022 but still eased from the 13.5% increase in April

Energy prices are the key to lowering the overall inflation, which fell by 1.7% from a year ago after an increase of 2.4% in April.

Core inflation fell to 5.3% from 5.6% in April, which excludes volatile food and energy.

In Germany, inflation fell by 6.1%, in France by 5.1%, and Italy by 7.6%.
