Japan's factory output drops by 7.5% month-on-month in January

Japan's factory output declined by 7.5% in January compared to the previous month, slightly exceeding the market's forecast of a 7.3% drop.

Predictions from the Trade and Industry sector suggest a 4.8% increase in adjusted output for February, followed by a 2.0% rise in March.

Government data revealed a 2.3% growth in Japanese retail sales in January compared to the same period last year, marking the 23rd consecutive month of increase.

This growth aligns with market expectations, matching the median forecast of a 2.3% rise.
