Lebanese pound dropped to 100,000 pounds with banks returned to strike

Posted on March 29, 2023   |

The Lebanese pound fell to an unusual level and banks are returning to completing their strike; the exchange rate registered 100,000 pounds per dollar on the parallel market.

The lira witnessed continuous declines since the Banking Association intended to return to the strike which started last February.

Banks fixed March 14 to return to the strike which prevents the dollar to reach banks, thus on the black market the demand and price for it grows.
