Sonatrach and Eni sign MOU to boost partnership

• Algeria's Sonatrach and Italian oil major Eni has signed a MOU to boost their exploration and production partnership in Berkine basin.
• The MOU is for drawing a roadmap to define the steps to be followed to conclude one or more contracts under the new legal framework.
• The MOU was signed in Algiers by Sonatrach chief Toufik Hakkar and Eni CEO Claudio Descalzi.
• In 2019 Algeria approved a new energy law aimed at improving its investment climate.
