US to avert China's economic oppression in a mutual response with G7 countries

The United States is pushing the members of the Group of 7 countries to take collective measures against China’s economic oppression if it goes against the group’s members.

The G7 countries are Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom, and the United States along with the European Union.

The US government and Congress disclosed penalizing steps against Beijing beforehand which contain raising tariffs to prevent Beijing from economically pressuring other countries.

In February, Congress introduced a bipartisan bill that will allow the president to take numerous countermeasures against Chinese economic pressure.

Under one of the proposals, the US would decrease the duties from the affected country and increase shipments and neutralize the impact of Chinese bullying.

China is violating World Trade Organisation rules by applying economic pressure on other countries. It raised tariffs on Australian imports of coal, wine, and barley, and imposed rules on imports from Lithuania from EU nations to strengthen ties with Taiwan.
