Egypt to amend its Real Estate Registration Law 186/2020, to postpone its implementation till Dec 2021

• The proposed amendment would give the Egyptian cabinet the authority to postpone the implementation of the law.
• As per the amendment, citizens have to pay revised fees to register properties at the Real Estate Registration and Notarisation Authority.
• The law was previously scheduled to be enforced from 6th March 2021.  
• Egypt’s House of Representatives had previously amended a few provisions of Law 114/1946.
