New single-family houses over $14,000 in US due to volatile lumber prices

- In July, on average single-family houses, the cost for softwood lumber products grew by 74% to $29,407, and 81% to $10,734 in an average multifamily home.
- Construction loan interest, brokers’ fees, and margins increase home buyers' prices, which will increase the final home price by 14.94% higher than the builder’s cost.
