Canada to challenge US duties on softwood lumber exports

Canada is opposing the US decision, made in late 2023, to keep duties on Canadian softwood lumber exports.

This challenge is part of the US-Mexico-Canada free trade deal, highlighting the continued disagreement between the two nations over lumber exports. 

US producers argue that these exports receive unfair subsidies.
