China Timber Market synopsis

• Inventory of softwood stands at 4.55 million m3 on April 29 , a fall of 14.8%, month on month basis
• Radiata pine logs inventory fell by 8.55% to 2.65 million m3
• European spruce log saw a fall of 28% standing at about a million m3
• Log average sales volume increased from 82,900 m3 to 110,875 m3 on a yearly basis
• Radiata pine log in New Zealand have increased by USD 12/m3 to USD 177/m3 on a monthly basis
• European spruce log were up euro 31/m3 to euro 166/m3 (USD 199/m3) on a monthly basis
• SPF stocks declined by about 10% to 79,500 m3 at Taicang port at end of April, softwood lumber stocks were steady at about 700,500 m3 , on a monthly basis
• New offers on SF grade in Russian and Northern Europe were down by USD 19/m3 to USD 379-399/m3
