China's hardwood imports saw a 7% growth in 2021

  • In 2021, hardwood log and sawn timber imports grew by 7.07% annually to 22.94 million cubic meters (+7.07% as compared to 2020) due to big demand from indoor decoration, and the real estate market drove up the furniture demand in China. 
  • Hardwood log imports increased by 8.41% to 13.7 million cubic meters of which the top 5 source countries supplied 8.593 million cubic meters, accounting for 62.71% of the total.
