Export volumes see increase in Europe

In 2020, European softwood lumber exports from sawmills grew from 20% to 45% Asia imported about 20% of total European softwood lumber exports in 2020 This opportunity was mainly created by low local demands, ready supply of wood Sweden, Finland, Germany, and Austria constituted for 56% of exports China and USA constituted for about 50% of imports of softwood lumber from Europe Sweden export increased by 12% for period of Jan-July 2020 when compared to same period last year German export increased by 2.2% for period of Jan-August 2020 when compared to same period last year, however sales of hardwood was down 20% Huge demand for Russian timber with September seeing number of trains on China-Europe railway increasing by 85%
