High costs are spoiling the profits of wood product manufacturers in Vietnam

• Vietnam imports 5.5 to 6.5 million square meters of wood raw materials every year, and rising transportation costs coupled with high raw material prices have increased import bills, reducing profits.
• Manufacturers of wood products need to stay idle amid high fuel costs and freight rates as they are unwilling to sign new contracts due to cost uncertainties.
