Irving Tissue invests $600 million in major expansion of Macon plant

Irving Tissue announced a $600 million expansion for its Macon, Georgia, plant, marking its fifth anniversary.

The expansion will create 100 new jobs and add a third paper-making machine, more converting lines, and an automated warehouse.

The Macon plant employs over 400 workers and produces household paper goods like bath tissue and paper towels.

The expansion will boost the plant’s ThruAir Dry capacity by 75,000 tons, or 15 million cases.

Total annual production at the plant will reach 225,000 tons or 45 million cases.

This investment reflects Irving Tissue’s focus on growing its Macon facility and increasing production.
