Lumber producers in the US plan to expand the sawmill capacity by 1.4 million board feet to meet the lumber demand

- Production capacity of North American softwood sawmills increased by 3.3 million m^3
- Demand for home listings has increased by 19.1% than the previous year due to the growing supply constraints. Most of the increased capacity came from manufacturing in the U.S South.
- The increase is due to the current pandemic situation across the world.
- Despite the expansion of mill capacity, demand for wood continues to exceed supply.
