Russia becomes World’s biggest softwood lumber Exporter

• Russia passes Canada to become the worlds leading softwood lumber exporter and shipped 35 million cubic meters of softwood lumber in 2019.
• The low activity in the U.S. housing market decreased the demand for U.S. lumber overseas.
• Chinese imports are at their lowest level after three consecutive quarters of decline, and Germany's exports are outpaced by growth in shipments to the US, UK, China, and India.
