Russia plans to develop the timber industry

• The plan includes over 50 events, aimed at reforestation, as well as the environmental and economic efficiency of the industry.
• Partial steps of the development plan are expected to be implemented already this year, which include the development of a proposal to reduce duties on imports of equipment and consumables.
• The government will introduce a package of measures to encourage the transition of boiler houses to the use of wood biofuels, by the end of March 2022.
• At the beginning of the summer, a set of supportive measures will be presented for representatives of the timber industry complex working to lessen harmful emissions and absorb greenhouse gases.
