Timber harvesting in Russia fell by 10-15% in 2022

In 2022, timber harvesting in Russia fell by 10-15% year-on-year to 190 million m³. 

Winter harvesting started in December and by February the exact results of the year will be seen.

The decrease was 10-15% compared to last year and in 2023, Russia aims to overcome the trend towards a decrease in harvesting and return to stable harvesting volumes of 220-230 million m³.

In monetary terms, the forest industry contributes 1 trillion rubles to the Russian economy.
