Uk imposed extra 35% import tariffs on Russian and Belarus products
Posted on April 4, 2022 |
- The government of the United Kingdom (UK) on Friday, March 25, 2022, denied hundreds of Russian and Belarus exports access to the Most Favored Nation tariffs, which in turn denies them the key benefits of WTO membership.
- The tariff will affect all wood products presently paying duty such as plywood or OSB and will also include non-dutiable products such as logs, sawn wood, and engineered wood products (including glulam).
- Any goods which are in Europe at present, awaiting onwards shipment to the UK should be excused if they completed Russian or Belarusian export formalities before March 25th.
