UPM announces plans for temporary production changes in Finland

UPM announced on November 22, 2023, stating the possibility of temporary layoffs in Finland.

The potential impact involves UPM Pulp, UPM Timber, UPM Communication Papers, and UPM Biofuels.

Various operations, such as pulp mills and sawmills, might be affected, impacting approximately 780, 235, 1,100, and 90 employees.

The reason behind this is to make adjustments to production due to existing uncertainties.

If implemented, the temporary layoffs could occur between January 1 and June 30, 2024, for some units and from March 1 to August 31, 2024, for others, with a maximum duration of 90 days.
