UPM Plywood mill strike in Finland persists as union rejects new offer
Posted on April 2, 2025 |
UPM Plywood and the Industrial Union failed to reach a new employer-specific collective agreement, prolonging the strike.
The Industrial Union rejected the mediator’s proposal, extending the five-week strike that has halted production at UPM Plywood mills in Finland.
The strike affects 1,000 employees covered by the agreement, while production at UPM Plywood’s Otepää mill in Estonia remains unaffected.
Despite agreeing on the overall contract terms in August 2024, negotiations have stalled over pay increases, with no resolution reached.
