Weyerhaeuser plans a $96 million investment in Dodson, Louisiana sawmill

Weyerhaeuser Corporation is allocating $96.2 million to upgrade its Dodson, Louisiana lumber mill, emphasizing modernization and decarbonization efforts.

The enhancement project features the introduction of 3 Continuous Dry Kilns (CDK) and a new, eco-friendly drying system, focusing on improving safety, productivity, and product reliability.

The updated technology minimizes greenhouse gas emissions, waste, and maintenance costs while boosting the mill's drying capacity.

Additional components of the plan include incorporating a new trimmer, sorter, and stacker to enhance overall mill efficiencies and meet production targets.

Louisiana secured Weyerhaeuser's commitment to the Dodson project through a competitive incentives package, offering a $500,000 performance-based forgivable loan for infrastructure improvements and equipment from the Economic Development Award Program.
