2,500 people's protest erupts over 49.9% sale of HHLA port operator to MSC

Hamburg experienced a protest involving 2,500 participants against the 49.9% sale of HHLA port operator to MSC.

The demonstration features flares and a notable police presence, moving from HHLA's HafenCity headquarters to the town hall.

MSC intends to create a joint venture with Hamburg, positioning the city as a pivotal hub in its worldwide container services network. 

This plan entails expansion, increased staff, higher container traffic, and relocating the cruise headquarters to Hamburg.
