Blank sailings show downward trend ahead of Chinese National Holiday

Carriers are planning to reduce their ship capacity by 3%, which is a smaller reduction than in previous years.

They will take away less space on routes like Asia to North America's West Coast (3.7% less) and East Coast (2.2% less).

Golden Week is just 5 weeks away, so carriers need to decide soon about canceling more trips. Waiting makes it harder for customers to handle any issues.

Because there isn't much demand for shipping right now, carriers might need to cancel even more trips than they did in the years 2017-2019. This adds pressure to their plans for October 2023.
