Employers and unions reached a tentative agreement at the Port of Halifax

On April 14, locals of ILA (The International Longshoremen’s Association) and (The Halifax Employers Association) HEA achieved an indefinite deal to renew their joint agreement, which is for 4 years and will run till December 31, 2025.

Since December 31, 2021, union members have worked without a joint agreement.

The HEA represents agents, shipping lines, and terminal operators at the Port of Halifax. 

The Council of ILA Locals represents the Halifax Gear Repair and Maintenance Men; Halifax Longshoremen’s Association; Halifax Freight and Steamship Union.
