DP World and Maersk have entered an eight-year agreement to enhance shipping operations at DP World's terminal in Brazil’s Port of Santos.

Maersk will add six new shipping services in the first year, with eight weekly calls, increasing to seven services and 10 weekly calls by 2026 after DP World expands capacity.

The Port of Santos terminal, currently handling 1.4 million TEU annually, will boost its capacity to 1.7 million TEU by the end of 2026.

DP World is investing R$450 million to upgrade container-handling capacity, with an additional R$1.6 billion planned to expand capacity further to 2.1 million TEU by 2027.

The collaboration aims to strengthen Brazil’s trade network by improving port efficiency and increasing shipping capacity.
