Maersk prepares to sail in the Red Sea with US assistance

Maersk is preparing to resume shipping in the Red Sea, enabled by a newly established multinational maritime task force aimed at safeguarding vessels from attacks by Houthi rebels originating from Yemen.

Maersk is currently formulating plans for the initial vessels to navigate this particular route.

The paramount concern for Maersk throughout this process is ensuring the safety of its employees, and recognizing the complexities and challenges present in the Red Sea/Gulf of Aden region.
