Over 20 nations in coalition for Red Sea shipping protection- Pentagon

More than 20 countries teamed up with the US-led coalition to protect Red Sea shipping from Houthi rebel attacks.

Houthis, backed by Iran, repeatedly target vessels in the important shipping lane, claiming support for Palestinians in Gaza amid conflict with Hamas.

Coalition forces, acting like highway patrol, will watch over the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden, ready to respond to and help commercial vessels in this crucial international waterway.
