Port of Lisbon suffered a cyber-attack, raising concerns over the disclosure of confidential data
Posted on January 9, 2023 |
LockBit claimed the attack, as its ransomware took down the port’s website and internal computer systems.
They stole financial reports, audits, budgets, contracts, cargo information, ship logs, and port documentation, with other vital port-related information.
LockBit threatened to publicize all of the files that were seized during their computer attack and demanded $1.5 million by 18 January.
Despite these threats, no operational activity has been compromised at the Port of Lisbon, which has over 3,500 vessel calls annually handling over 13.4 million tons of cargo.
