Efforts to evade sanctions by shippers to Belarus and Russia increased five-fold from March to June.

The number of trains turned back for sanctions breaches in the Baltic states rose from 14 in March to 74 by May.

Following Russia's invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, the Baltic states have become a crucial route for goods circumventing sanctions.

Goods worth at least €130 million have passed through Lithuania alone on their way to Russia.
