Strike at the Port of Felixstowe to cause a loss of over $800 million

Posted on August 22, 2022   |

  • The clothing ($82.8 million) and electronic components ($32.3 million) will be impacted by the strike.
  • Felixstowe is essential in global trade, as it provides UK exports to larger European ports including Rotterdam ($108 million) and Hamburg ($138 million), but due to protests, the trade will be pivoted to smaller ports in the UK and other international ports including Wilhelmshaven, Germany, which has a trade inflow of $1 billion higher than Felixstowe.
