Algeria saw a 45% drop in European exports

Posted on March 31, 2023   |

European exports fell by 45% in Algeria due to the measures from Algeria to protect the national economy in 2015, which disturbed the trade balance between Algeria and the EU for 8 years, despite the partnership agreement between the 2 parties since 2005.

EU was unable to invest in Algeria and transfer technology to it, as a result, the Algerian authorities demanded a review of the agreement.

As a result, since 2020, the Partnership Agreement has been suspended, on the Algerian side, and has sought to discuss the points of contention with the Partnership Council.
