Egypt to receive $4.3 billion financial support from EU

The European Parliament approved a €4 billion ($4.3 billion) financial aid package for Egypt to support economic reforms.
A majority of 452 EU lawmakers backed the macro-financial assistance.
The European Commission initially proposed a €5 billion loan as part of a €7.4 billion financial package.
Egypt received a short-term loan of €1 billion at the end of 2023.
The aid aims to strengthen EU-Egypt relations and support Egypt’s economy amid challenges.
