EU postpones first round of tariffs on U.S. imports until mid-April

The EU has postponed its counter-measures against U.S. metal tariffs until mid-April, allowing time for reconsideration and negotiations.
Initially, the EU planned to reimpose 2018 tariffs on $4.9 billion of U.S. goods by April 1 and expand to $18 billion by April 13.
The first wave of tariffs includes a 50% duty on U.S. bourbon, triggering a threat from Trump to impose a 200% tariff on EU wines and alcohol.
The European Commission confirmed all tariffs would now take effect in mid-April instead of the earlier proposed dates.
The Trump administration plans to introduce reciprocal tariffs on April 2, aiming to rebalance global trade.
