Egypt to raise fuel prices 3 more times before year-end 2025

Egypt will gradually lift fuel subsidies until the end of 2025, as confirmed by the Prime Minister.

The automatic pricing committee will determine the next fuel price hikes, with the next review set for April.

Three additional fuel price increases are expected by December, each capped at 10%.

The government plans to offset the impact with social protection measures, including salary and pension hikes starting in July.

Egypt aims to cut subsidy expenses, which reached LE154 billion (US$3.02 billion) in the 2024/2025 fiscal year.

With 40% of fuel imported, Egypt remains vulnerable to global oil prices and currency fluctuations.
