20 sawmills in danger as government to ban old-growth forest in British Columbia

The ban on 2.6 million unprotected forests can shut down 20 sawmills and 2 pulp mills in B.C.

The shutting down of multiple mills cause the loss of 4,500 jobs that generate $400 million in revenue for the government each year.

The ban will affect the Coastal forest industry most as half of the annual allowable cut is the old-growth forest.
