Brazil's exports of wood products grew annually by 22.2% in April

  • In April, Brazilian exports of wood-based products grew by 22% to $465.3 million in value compared to April 2021's $380.5 million.
  • Pine sawnwood exports grew by 29% to $77.2 million in April compared to April 2021's $59.7 million, and in volume, exports fell from 285,500 m³ to 281,100 m³ in the same period.
  • In April, tropical sawnwood exports rose by 17% to 40,900 m³ compared to 35,000 m³ in April 2021 and exports grew by 31% to US$18.8 million from $14.4 million in the same period.
  • In April, demand for Pine plywood exports fell by 4.5% to $100.0 million compared to April 2021 and exports also dropped by 2.9% to 234,100 m³.
  • Tropical plywood exports rose by 7.7% in volume and 34.3% to 8,400 m³ ($4.7 million) in April 2022 and wooden furniture exports fell by 27.0% to $52.8 million in April 2022.
