US hardwood exports grew by 20% to India in Q1 2022

- In Q1 2022, the U.S. hardwood lumber exports to India increased with the total shipped to the market growing by 20% to 2,262m3 and by 36% in value to $1.58 million compared to Q1 in 2021.
- The exports to India in Q1 mostly include red oak, white oak, and hickory with the total volume shipped being 11,109m³ which is triple the previous record set in 2019.
- Hickory's value grew by 99% and also saw a 53% growth in its volume, white oak saw 160% growth in value and 121% growth in volumes, and red oak saw a 51% increase in value and 86% increase in volume.
