Finland’s Koskisen to boost Järvelä sawmill output toward 450,000 m³

Koskisen Oyj is raising output at its new Järvelä sawmill from 400,000 m³ to 450,000 m³.
To handle higher sawn timber volumes, the company is adding new channel dryers, boosting drying capacity by about 15%.
The investment will also enhance product quality while replacing older drying units that have reached the end of their lifecycle.
Around €80 million has been invested in the Järvelä sawmill and related operations over the past five years.
At current production levels, the sawmill aims to lift EBITDA by about €8 million annually, with two-thirds of that already achieved.
Logistics improvements have delivered €1.4 million in annual savings, and the new channel dryers are expected to be ready by summer 2026.
