High material prices caused delays in construction projects across Louisiana

  • The lumber prices grew by 241% since late August of 2021, and the factors contributing to the crisis are an increase in demand, high fuel prices, a decrease in materials, and a lack of workforce. 
  • Contractors across the state are trying to cope with all of these high prices and the lack of materials but it is starting to hinder some of their projects.
