Moelven announces permanent closure of Ransby sawmill, in Sweden
Posted on May 27, 2025 |
Moelven will permanently close its Ransby sawmill in Sweden due to weak profitability from high raw materials and production costs.
The Notaniemi sawmill will continue operations as usual.
The closure impacts 24 employees and 14 contractors working at the Ransby site.
The sawmill specialized in producing around 80,000 m³ of spruce and pine annually, mainly thinner timber under 18 cm in diameter.
