Södra announces $158 million investment in Kisa sawmill, Sweden
Posted on August 27, 2025 |
Södra will invest SEK 1.5 billion (US$158M) in its Kinda sawmill in Kisa, Sweden — one of its largest sawmill projects.
The investment will secure the mill’s future and create room for expansion, including a new pellet plant and potential biocarbon production.
The project will be carried out in stages and is set to be fully operational by 2028.
Once complete, the sawmill’s capacity will rise 50% to 300,000 m³ annually, along with a pellet plant capacity of 25,000 tons.
Södra said the move strengthens its role as a long-term wood products supplier both in Sweden and globally, while boosting its regional presence.
