Southeastern Timber Products pumps $120M into Ackerman sawmill upgrade

Southeastern Timber Products is investing over $120 million to expand its sawmill in Ackerman, Mississippi, adding 40 jobs.

The company is upgrading with a new sawmill line, dry kilns, and storage facilities to increase output.

The expansion will raise annual production from 120 million board feet to 300 million board feet.

Tolko Industries, based in British Columbia, partnered with Southeastern Timber in 2018 to establish Southeastern Timber Products LLC.

The Mississippi Development Authority is backing the project to help strengthen the lumber supply chain.
