Stimson Lumber Company will curtail operations at its Clatskanie and Forest Grove, Oregon, mills and plans to cut production by 30% right away due to high costs and a weak market.
The rising costs in labor, raw materials, packaging, fuel, and energy weighed on the ability to maintain an effective, safe, and healthy production environment.
