Sweden sawlog prices surge 11% in Q1 2025, the sharpest quarterly rise in years

Roundwood prices in Sweden rose in Q1 2025 compared to Q4 2024.
Sawlog prices increased by 11% quarter-over-quarter, with regional gains of 12% in Svealand, 11% in Götaland, 6% in Södra Norrland, and 5% in Norra Norrland.
Pulpwood prices were up 5% overall, led by a 15% surge in Norra Norrland. Götaland and Svealand saw 5% and 4% rises, while prices in Södra Norrland dipped 1%.
Year-on-year, sawlog prices climbed nearly 30% across Sweden.
Götaland and Svealand had the steepest annual sawlog price increases at 34% and 32%, respectively.
Södra Norrland and Norra Norrland recorded lower annual sawlog price growth, at 20% and 16%.
Pulpwood prices grew 23% year-on-year, with the highest increases in Svealand and Götaland (both ~27%).
