U.S. Lumber prices up 8.9% due to West Fraser's production cuts

Posted on August 16, 2022   |

  • Since April, lumber futures grew by 8.9% to $601.80 per thousand board feet.
  • The increase is due to a reduction in the production of West Fraser's British Columbian mills in which the company will permanently curtail 170 million board feet of annual production at two mills, along with 85 million square feet of plywood from a third facility in the region.
