US to fund over $32 million for the 2022 Wood Innovations and Community Wood Grants

  • These grants aim to increase the use of wood products, develop emerging wood markets, and help active management to improve forest health and resiliency.
  • In the Southern Region, 14 grants were awarded of which 13 wood innovation grants will help in projects such as the expansion of biochar markets in Virginia and the mass timber reconstruction of a high-profile building at Clemson University, and the 14th grant is a $1 million community wood grant to Laurinburg, N.C., which will build upon combined wood by-products value-added system.
