A Vietnamese project on sustainable and effective development of wood processing aims to develop the wood processing industry into an important economic sector and make Vietnam one of the world’s biggest timber producers.
The government aims to an international furniture exhibition center and promote the establishment of design RandD centers.
Trade promotion activities will be expanded in major markets, including the US, Japan, South Korea, the EU, and China, as well as other potential markets.
As per the project, export turnover of timber and forest products is expected to hit $20 billion and $25 billion by 2025 and 2030 respectively.
In 2021, Vietnam’s forestry export value grew annually by 20% to $15.87 billion, accounting for over 30% of the country’s entire agro-forestry-fishery export turnover.
